"Tahniah, anda diterima masuk ke Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia ", so said the computerised voice from the UPU teleinfo
line. Finally, my dream to get into a National University materialised. 2000 thus began the life of an undergraduate, the
carefree life of campus for me. Cool!
The first week in campus was torturing and perhaps stupid. The Orientation week was dead tiring as I slept
very late but wakes up in the middle of sembahyang subuh. Talk about civic minded people here! The most memorable one must
be the oath taking ceremony in DECTAR as I solemnly declared myself as the so called Mahasiswa of UKM. Not many have the Maha
status you know.
Living on my own has indeed broaden my perspective of life. I am on my own now. No more the comfort of
my humble house in Malacca. I start to manage myself but still brings back that load of clothes back for mum to wash. Studying
has been fun though theres always the pressure whenever the final exams come over. Putting that aside, all the presentation,
discussion, late nite suppers, report writing, industrial training, skiiping the morning class and campus politics will surely
be remembered.
